What we do
Our Ten Golden Rules

Before you pitch, these are our ten golden rules:

  1. Don't go to pitch unless you have to
  2. If you have to go to pitch, take independent advice
  3. Only ask the incumbent to join in if theyve a serious chance of winning
  4. Be fair to all but be especially fair to the incumbent
  5. Spend as long as it takes on getting the criteria right - be true to your own agenda, and don't let it change during the process
  6. Deliver a terrific brief - be very clear about eg: are you looking for a short term fix or a long term marriage? And stick to it
  7. Define the process and ensure it's tailored to you off the shelf solutions tend not to work
  8. Work to a realistic timetable and stick to it
  9. Don't change the judging team during the process
  10. It's never too early to talk about money, and if you leave it to after the whole pitch process youve left it too late

"We worked with Colin over a six month tender process to find a new creative agency, leveraging his diplomatic style, expertise and market knowledge to arrive at a fantastic outcome for all involved. Colin became a trusted partner on both the client and agency side of the pitch and executed every step of his phased approach with fairness, transparency and genuinely helpful and credible input. Working with Colin we felt that he was seeking the best fit for both parties and he sought to assist with either subtle or firm advice depending on what was required at the time. Colin continued to follow up with us both during and post pitch with relevant and encouraging information. Colin operated well at all levels of our business with his professional and strategic approach."
