What we do
Our Ten Golden Rules

Before you pitch, these are our ten golden rules:

  1. Don't go to pitch unless you have to
  2. If you have to go to pitch, take independent advice
  3. Only ask the incumbent to join in if they’ve a serious chance of winning
  4. Be fair to all – but be especially fair to the incumbent
  5. Spend as long as it takes on getting the criteria right - be true to your own agenda, and don't let it change during the process
  6. Deliver a terrific brief - be very clear about eg: are you looking for a short term fix or a long term marriage? And stick to it
  7. Define the process and ensure it's tailored to you – off the shelf solutions tend not to work
  8. Work to a realistic timetable and stick to it
  9. Don't change the judging team during the process
  10. It's never too early to talk about money, and if you leave it to after the whole pitch process you’ve left it too late

"I have worked closely with Colin now on two key strategic review projects for Stockland. On both projects Colin provided an outstanding level of personal service. His vast and in-depth industry experience and hands-on approach ensured that the best outcome for our business was achieved. His pragmatic and down-to-earth approach was very refreshing and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone wishing to contract his professional services."
